The Homerton breastfeeding clinic has been a hugely valuable help to me. In the early days I was given support and advice on breastfeeding a newborn. I learnt how to improve our latch and the position for breastfeeding whilst lying down (essential for getting some much needed sleep). Now the continued support has encouraged me to keep going with breastfeeding despite going through a rocky patch at the moment (7 months). It’s involved a bit of detective work to figure out why feeding has become painful once more, but the breastfeeding counsellors have painstakingly gone through possible causes with me. Things are improving following their advice so I am hopeful the pain will go away completely soon.
